Roundtable Discussion: Clutter

Build supportive relationships, exchange practical information, and learn from community experts.

Meetings are OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Free to CHADD members. $5 donation suggested for non-members.

Meetings are held in the offices of Bay Area Properties located in the Claremont neighborhood of Berkeley, and bordering North Oakland.

This area remains one of the few neighborhoods with free parking (usually limited to two hours)- and plenty of it.

It’s not a "moan and groan" group. It's more of an ADHD Salon, with interesting conversation and sometimes chocolate.

So, come join us the third Wednesday of each month. (Parents are welcome, including parents of adults with ADHD. Many ADHD treatment issues are the same across the lifespan, and this is a rare opportunity for you to talk to adults with ADHD about their expeience as children and young adults. But rrimary and high school education issues are not discussed.)

• SPEAKER: Seth Hammerman, MD. Come meet a new psychiatrist in our community. Dr. Hammerman is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist who specializes in using both Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and medications (when necessary) for the treatment of Anxiety and Depression in school age children and teenagers. CBT also includes Exposure and Response Prevention for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. He trained in General Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania and Child Psychiatry at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. His private practice is in Corte Madera. CHADD Parent Share Group in Marin County - Tiburon

A drop-in group open to all parents, family members & caregivers of children (of all ages) with challenges in self-regulation of attention or focus, activity level, emotions, whether or not formally diagnosed with AD/HD (all types). Family members share resources, concerns, successes, hope and strength. Chidren, including adult children, with AD/HD come in all sorts of packages, but when you hear someone sharing descriptions of behavior or learning problems that you thought only your child did, you realize you truly are not alone. There are others on the same path searching to understand their child's struggles, support their child's strengths, accept what cannot be changed and do their best to determine those programs, schools, interventions, medications, parenting strategies, curriculum that have been shown to make a significant difference in the lives of those with AD/HD (all types).

Usually the last Monday of the month 12:30 - 2:30.
2009 Meeting Dates: January 26, February 23, March 30, April 27, June 1 (Due to Memorial Day on May 25). No meetings end of June and July. Resumes August 31, September 28, October 26, November 30. No meeting December 2009.
